[摘 要]
自从很多年以前开始，汉语习语中的动物名词已经成为中国文化的一部分，并承载着中华民族丰富的文化内涵。因此，对习语中动物词汇的翻译涉及到对中国文化内涵的传达。本文应用比较、举例略论的措施主要归纳总结习语中动物名词的翻译。作者首先比较了动物词汇在中国文化和英语文化中的文化异同的内涵，接着略论了造成这些异同的原因，来自于地理环境、生活习俗、宗教信仰和历史发展等各个方面，再经过比较和寻找原因后，英语论文，作者提出了翻译动物名词的准则和翻译技巧，保留形象、舍弃形象或改换形象都应遵循忠实于原文并易于被译文读者所接受，英语论文范文，以使中国文化得以传播并发扬光大。

Abstrac：
Animal words in Chinese idioms, from several hundred years ago, have been becoming a part of Chinese culture. They carry fruitful elements of Chinese culture. So, the translation of Chinese animal words is involved in the connotation of Chinese culture. This thesis mainly talks about the translation of animal words in idioms. During the process, comparisons, examples and analysis are adopted to generalize or get conclusions. Firstly, the author compares the connotations of animal words in Chinese culture and English culture. Secondly, the writer analyzes the possible factors of the above results which are geographical background, local custom, religious belief, and historical development, etc. Thirdly, the thesis generalizes some principles and translation skills to make the source language translation work more comprehensive and suitable to the readers so that the foreigners have access to Chinese culture.

1. Introduction
Human beings are never inseparable from animals since ancient times no matter they hunt for food or entertainment. Even in today’s high-tech society, people rely on nature, and can’t get rid of the balance which is controlled by the food chain from the animal world. Whereas, language—one of the tools of innovations and discoveries of human beings, records the revolutionary progress of mankind. That is to say, people and animals co-exist in the material world, so animal images were inevitably recorded in language to imply a certain emotion or connotation according to their vivid appearances, characters and habitants. There are many such animal words in both Chinese culture and English culture that may have similar or their own unique meanings. For people in 21 century, it is of great importance to recognize the meaning of animal words in different cultures. On one hand, one can get knowledge of history and culture; on the other hand, one can get the cross-culture awareness for learning language or for broadening horizons.
