Abstract
Nowadays, with the development of society and economy, the world has become smaller and smaller. It is indisputable that the whole world is closely interconnected. Therefore, living in the “global village” today, we are now inevitably to be confronted with various foreign books and people. In consequence, translation, together with interpretation, seems more and more important.
This thesis is aimed at analyzing the translation by translation theories and skills through the translation practice. This thesis is based on the translation of The Politics of Dead, which was published on The New Yorker, Nov. 30, 2017. The whole passage discussed the right to die through Quinlan’s case.
The whole thesis is divided into two parts.
The first part is the process of the translation practice. This part has been divided into four chapters. The first chapter introduces the source text, which including the brief introduction and the reason for choosing the text. The second chapter is the translation theories that applied. The third chapter is skills that the author used in the process of translation practice. The last chapter is the conclusion, including reflection on the translation, challenges and personal gains.
The second part is the appendix, including the original and translation of the text.

随着社会与经济的不断发展,当下的世界可以说变得越来越小。毫无疑问,世界各国的关系也日渐加强。而生活在地球村的我们,英语毕业论文,在日常生活中总是不可避免的会看一些外文书籍,结识一些国际友人。因此,笔译与口译变得越来越重要。
本文旨在通过翻译理论与技巧指导进行翻译实践,并对译文进行略论。本文的翻译内容为2017年刊登于《纽约客》的一篇论述文——《死亡政见》。整篇文章通过美国著名的昆兰案来讨论人类死亡的权利。
本论文分为两部分。
第一部分为译者的译评。这一部分又被分为四个章节。第一章节介绍翻译文本的大致内容以及译者选择此文的原因。第二章为应用的翻译理论。第三章是译者在翻译实践中应用的各种翻译技巧与措施。最后一章为总结,包括了翻译感想、翻译过程中遇到的挑战以及个人的收获心得。
第二部分为附录,英语毕业论文,包括是翻译原文与翻译译本。
