Abstract
Political documents contain national leaders’ speeches and governments’ papers or reports, and they are crucial texts to record, transmit and reflect a country’s political spirits and attitudes. Chinese political documents give full expression to Communist Party of China and Chinese governments’ thoughts. Translating Chinese political documents makes it possible to introduce China to the whole world. Honest and smooth translation of political documents spreads China’s political thoughts well and establishes a good image of China. Parallelism has been widely used in Chinese political documents for expressing strong emotions, highlighting content, and strengthening the persuasion of language. It is necessary to study strategies of parallelism translation from Chinese into English because that is directly related to whether the translation conveys the original information accurately. Based on the government report’s English version of the eighteenth national congress of the CPC, this paper studies strategies in translation of parallelism in Chinese political documents, aiming to sum up general strategies and apply them to the parallelism translation practice in political documents from Chinese into English.
The paper is divided into four parts. Firstly it abstracts relative translation theories and principles, and then it expounds political documents’ definition, classifications and textual features. Thirdly the author studies syntax structural features and functions of Chinese parallelism; and figures out differences and similarities between Chinese and English parallelism. Finally based on the corpus, the author concludes general strategies of parallelism translation from Chinese into English.

摘 要
政治文献，包括国家领导人的讲话和政府的文件或报告，它是记录、传达和体现国家政治精神以及政治态度的重要文本。中国政治文献高度体现了党和国家的意志。翻译中国政治文献能让世界认识和了解中国，而忠实、通顺的翻译能较好地传播中国的政治思想、树立良好的中国形象。中国政治文献大量应用排比句，英语毕业论文，英语毕业论文，因其能表达强烈的情感、突出强调的内容、增强语言的说服力。在政治文献汉译英的过程中，排比句的翻译直接联系到译文能否准确传达原文信息。所以，探讨排比句汉译英的策略十分必要。本文以新华网中国共产党第十八次全国代表大会政府工作报告英译本为探讨语料，进行政治文献排比句式的翻译策略探讨，旨在通过对该课题的探讨总结出中国政治文献排比句翻译的一般策略，并运用于今后政治文献汉译英的翻译实践。
本文分为四个部分。第一部分阐明了相关翻译理论和准则，紧接着介绍了政治文献的定义、分类和语篇特征，第三部分探讨了汉语排比句的句法结构特征和功能，指出了英汉排比句的差异，最后结合语料总结出排比句汉译英的一般策略。
