摘 要
公共标语是一种常见于公共场所的实用性文体，是公开面向公众的标识语、提示语、指示语、警示语的统称。随着全球化的加剧，英文公示语在各种场合已成为必不可少的部分，它担负着某种具体的、有明确公众指向的交际任务。公共标语的翻译十分重要，它决定着翻译的译文能否准确地传达信息，是否会作用与外籍人士的沟通，英语毕业论文，英语毕业论文，是否会损害城市甚至是国家的形象。本文以校园公共标语翻译为例，先简单介绍校园公示语的种类以及存在的问题。通过大量的举例略论，从而来讨论公共标语翻译的准则和要求。

Abstract
Public sign is a practical type of writing, the general term for signs of indication, reminder, instructions and warning in public which aimed at conveying useful and necessary information to public. With the intensifying of globalization, English public signs have become an indispensable part in various public places and bear the responsibility of some specific and clearly public---oriented communication. It is important to translate public signs appropriately for it decides whether the translated text can convey the information accurately whether it would interfere with communication with foreign people and whether it would impair the image of a city and even a country. Taking bilingual public signs in Universities for example, this paper briefly introduces the character of public signs in Universities and analyzes the incorrect translation and then discusses the principles and requirements of public signs’ translation through a lot of examples’ analysis.

1 Introduction
With the development of the city culture and globalization, more and more foreigners have been attracted to China. Public sign is a special kind of writing style, which can be always seen in public places, calling people’s attention by using only several words or just by a simple picture. Public signs have great importance in standardizing people’s activities, encouraging production, building a harmonious society and so on. Therefore, the standardization of public signs’ translation is without doubt important. This paper will focus on the principles and requirements of public signs’ translation, hoping the accuracy of translation.
