Abstract
Sons and Lovers is regarded as David Herbert Lawrence’s autobiographical novel. It tells us a story about the life of the Morels during the period of industrial evolution, especially about the life path of Paul. This thesis explores the relations among human beings, nature and society and analyzes their mutual conflicts from an ecological perspective to conclude that Lawrence witnessed the distortion of humanity and the damage to environment as a result of the industrial revolution, so he urged human to return to the natural world and attach importance to protecting the environment so as to live harmoniously with nature.

摘 要
《儿子与情人》是大戴维•赫伯特•劳伦斯的一本自传体小说。小说讲述了工业革命时期莫瑞尔一家的生活,特别描写了小说主人公保尔的成长经历。本文主要是通过生态视角略论小说中三对联系即人与社会,自然及他人三者之间的联系以及三者之间存在的矛盾。从而得出结论,由于劳伦斯见证了工业革命引起的人性的扭曲和环境的破坏,英语毕业论文,他呼吁人类回归自然,保护环境,英语论文,以期达到人类与自然的和谐相处。

1. Introduction
David Herbert Lawrence, born in a working-class family on 11 September 1885 in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, was a prominent and controversial English writer of the 20th century, whose prolific and diverse output including novels, short stories, poems, plays, essays, travel books, paintings, translations, literary criticism and personal letters. The most famous works of Lawrence are Sons and Lovers (1913), The Rainbow (1915), Women in Love (1920), The Plumed Serpent (1926) and Lady Chatterley’s Lover (1928). His collected works represent an extended reflection upon the dehumanizing effects of modernity and industrialization. In these novels, Lawrence confronts issues related to emotional health and vitality, spontaneity, sexuality, and instinctive behavior.
