ABSTRACT
Ethical literary criticism is a research method to read, analyze and interpret literary works, to study literary problems from the perspective of ethics. love was the most precious emotion in the world , whatever the form and content is, all relates to ethical concepts and must be valued by certain ethical standard. The author focuses on analyzing four character’s different love in the Morrison’s Love, exploring the right way to build a harmonious interpersonal relationship.

Chapter One Introduction
1.1 Introduction to Toni Morrison
Toni Morrison was born in a black family in Ohio in 1931, her original name was Chloe Anthony Wofford, her father was a worker in shipyard, her mother Rahmah Willis Wofford was a housewife. Toni Morrison liked to listen to the ghost stories her grandmother told her and she loved to read the literary works. In 1949, she majored in English and minored in classical literature in Howard University in Washington, D.C. she was enthusiastic about trouping in school and she gave touring performance in the south, which makes her very touched. In addition, she continued her study in Cornell University and had the M. A. Degree from Cornell university, her Thesis title was Virginia Woolf’s and William Faulkner’s Treatment of the Alienated Cornell University in1995. She married with a Architect who named Harold in 1958. But in 1964, they divorced. As a single mother, she raised two children by herself. From 1965 to 1984, she functioned as a textbook editor and senior editor in Random House Inc. Then she taught in State University of New York, University of California Berkeley and Princeton University. She tried to start her literary work after work. The professional train of English and Classic literary helped her organize her thoughts clearly, as the experience of the black woman attributed her rich inner world, when she was 40 years old , her first novel published, then it inspired her create more good novel.
