摘要:
本文对《欲望号街车》中的四位主要人物的性格与其命运进行举例略论，没 落的南方淑女布兰奇因为性格傲慢，充满欲望，英语毕业论文，敏感，而遭受了她悲剧性的一生。而斯坦利的性格野蛮，残酷，英语论文题目，有很强的控制欲，小气吝啬的同时又很具有男子气概，虽然他不富有，却生活得像国王一样。布兰奇的妹妹斯蒂拉性格温柔，有很强的依赖性，比较容易妥协，虽然俩人在同样的家庭环境里长大，她过着看似幸福的生活。米奇生性软弱，比较顺从，缺少男子气概，没有选择能力的他注定会孤独终生。说明人的性格会作用其命运的变化。人因为拥有不同的性格，在社会生活中决定了他的生活态度，在人生关键时刻会作用他的选择。

Abstract:
Through the analysis of the main protagonists’ characters and fates in A Streetcar Named Desire, this thesis will prove that Blanche, a fading southern belle, endures the tragic fate because of her characters, arrogant, dependence, lustful and sensitive. While Stanley is barbarous, cruel, desire for control mean and manhood, though he is poor, he controls everything in his family, almost like a king. Though Stella is brought up in the same aristocratic family with Blanche, she chooses a completely different way of life. She is gentle, dependent and compromised, so she enjoys the seemingly happy life. Besides, Mitch is helpless and destined to be lonely for his flabby, obedient, lack of manhood characters. Different people have different characters which determine his attitude in the social life and at the crucial moment characters have a great effect on one’s choice.

1. Introduction
A Streetcar Named Desire is the representative work of Tennessee Williams. It discusses that different people have different fates because character has a great effect on people. This paper aims at investigating the main protagonists’ characters and fates in A Streetcar Named Desire. Tennessee Williams well excels in depicting intricate relationship among human beings and their subtle psychological activities, and characteristic is an important aspect that few people talked. In this paper the writer will list some examples to prove that different characters have different influences on a person’s behaviors. The paper aims to argue that habit forms character, and character decides fate. One's fate is influenced by both the external force- one's living environment, and the internal force-one's hereditary personality. Meanwhile, this thesis is meant to encourage people to overcome difficulties in life cheerfully, to become the master of one's own fate, and to struggle for one's own dream and self-value.
