摘要
作为世界著名的小说家，马克吐温一生中创作了大量的著作，包括小说、剧本、散文、诗歌等各个方面。其中，小说《哈克贝利芬历险记》生动地体现了马克吐温创作的艺术魅力，被誉为美国最伟大的小说之一。此前，英语毕业论文，已有大量对于这部小说的探讨，但主要是对小说进行文体略论，同时也有一些对于小说主题的探讨，包括种族主义、奴隶制和美国人民对自由的强烈追求等。然而，以往的探讨极少对小说的成长主题进行全面深入地略论。因此，本论文着手从成长小说的角度出发，通过略论故事情节及主要人物联系，探索主人公哈克贝利芬在追求自由的流浪过程中获得的道德和心理上的成长。
本论文主要包括三个部分：第一部分简要介绍成长小说以及论文探讨的文本对象《哈克贝利分历险记》。第二部分包括两个方面，即略论主人公哈克在逃跑过程中获得的两个主要方面的成长，包括哈克追求自由这一行为本身反映出的心理成熟以及与黑奴吉姆在流浪过程中建立的深厚友谊帮助他获得的道德成长。第三部分为结论，通过在第二部分中对小说故事情节、主要人物联系的略论，得出哈克在经历了流浪过程中的一系列事件，遇到各种各样的人之后，英语论文，在心理或者道德上都获得了巨大的成长，对社会和个人有了更加清楚的认识。

Abstract
As a world-known novelist, Mark Twain is quite a prolific writer with a large number of works, including novels, plays, essays, poems and so forth, of which his novel Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, characterized by pervading humor and satire, is deemed as “the Great American Novel”. Previously, there have been studies in abundance on this novel, mainly on its stylistic features and its themes, such as racism, slavery and American eager pursuit of freedom. However, few studies have been done to gain an insight into the protagonist Huck’s all-around growth in his drift down Mississippi. Therefore, this thesis, in terms of coming-of –age novels, mainly deals with the two main aspects of Huck’s growth, namely the act itself of going on an escape journey towards freedom as well as his moral maturity, which is mainly owed to the profound friendship established between Jim and Huck, through an analysis of the plot and the relationship among the main characters.
Three parts comprise this thesis. A brief introduction to coming-of-age novels, and Mark Twain’s novel Adventures of Huckleberry Finn will be included in the first part where motivations and values of this study will also be given. The second part is the body part, composed of two sub parts, namely Huck’s psychological and moral maturity gained in the adventurous drift on the Mississippi River. The last part is the conclusion. On the ground of an overall analysis of the novel in the second part, a conclusion can be drawn that Huck grows a lot in psychology and morality after going through a sequence of accidents and meeting with people from all walks of life.
