Abstract
Everyone has youth, but because of their restricted living environment and atmosphere, the young may form a variety of ideas when they are growing up. The thoughts of adolescence have always been one of the focuses of society. Roma David Salinger and Hanhan, though living in different ages and cultures, wrote the youth novels which drew strong reactions from readers. The thoughts and experiences of protagonists in these novels resonate with the masses of teenagers, and also help the authors gain more attention from the adult world. This thesis, based on Salinger`s The Catcher in the Rye and Hanhan`s The Ideal City, tries to make a comparative analysis of the two heroes, Holden and Linxi, to interpret their similarities and differences in personality, experience, values, life ambition and rebellious ways, etc.
This paper consists of three parts. The first part mainly introduces background information, status and influence of the two books; in the second part, the author compares the two protagonists’ personalities, experiences, life ambitions, values and rebellious ways, etc; in the third part, the author analyzes the reasons for their differences. Through the comparative analysis of two heroes, the author hopes to point out the influence of personality, life experience and values on the personal development, and the importance of a healthy personality and a positive ambition to young people.

摘 要
青春是每一个人都会拥有的，但在经历青春的时候，青少年会因为他们的具体生活环境和氛围形成各式各样的思想。青春时期呈现出的思想一直都是社会所关注的焦点之一。处在不同时代和不同文化领域的罗姆•大卫•塞林格和韩寒，都写过出版后在社会上引起强烈反响的青春小说。这些著作中主人公的经历和思想在青少年中引起强烈共鸣，英语论文范文，也为作者赢得了成人社会的关注。本论文选取了塞林格的《麦田里的守望者》和韩寒的《一座城池》两部著作作为探讨蓝本，英语论文范文，对两部著作中男主人公形象进行比较略论，阐释各自在个性、经历、价值观、人生理想和叛逆方式等方面的差异。
论文分为三个部分。第一部分主要介绍两部著作的写作背景、所取得成就和产生的作用；第二部分比较两位主人公在个性、经历、价值观、理想和叛逆方式等方面的差异；第三部略论二者存在差别的原因。笔者希望通过对两个主人公的对比略论,指出个性、人生经历和价值观等对人生发展的作用，以及培养青少年发展健康的性格和树立积极向上的理想的重要性。
