Abstract
Doris Lessing’s first novel The Grass Is Singing, describes a tragic character, Mary, which represents the living conditions of women and other vulnerable groups under the patriarchal society. Since the publication of this novel, it has aroused much critical attention. There are researches discussing the sex discrimination in the view of feminism, as well as exploring Mary’s tragedy by using psychological analysis. This paper holds that the novel also implies Lessing’s profound thinking of the harmonious relationship between nature and human through the tragedy of Mary. Therefore, based on the theory of Ecofeminism, the thesis reveals the internal and external reasons of Mary’s tragedy from the various contradictions affecting the development of women and nature and illustrates the significances of concerning Ecofeminism.
This paper consists of three parts: introduction, body part, and conclusion. Firstly, in the introduction, the general information about Doris Lessing and the novel, as well as a literary review of this novel is offered. Meanwhile this paper’s structure is introduced. Secondly, the body part is divided into three chapters. Chapter one analyzes the various contradictions affecting women and nature through dialogues and descriptions of the environment in the novel. Chapter two discusses the reasons of Mary’s lunacy from the aspect of society and Mary’s own personality. Chapter three focuses on the significances of Ecofeminism. Finally, in the conclusion, the thesis is summarized and conclusion is drawn.

摘 要
英国作家多丽丝•莱辛的小说《青草在歌唱》通过塑造玛丽这样一位悲剧女性，展现了男权社会下女性和其他弱势群体的生存状态。该小说自面世以来，英语论文，引起诸多学者的关注，有探讨从女性主义入手研讨文本中体现的性别歧视，英语毕业论文，也有学者应用精神略论法略论主人公的悲剧根源。本文认为这部小说透过玛丽的悲剧同时也蕴含着作者对自然与人类之间和谐联系的深刻思考，因此拟应用女性生态主义理论，从作用女性与生态发展的矛盾出发，揭示导致玛丽悲剧人生的内因与外因，同时研讨关注女性生态主义的现实意义。
本文由引言、本论、结论三部分组成，首先引言部分简要介绍多丽丝•莱辛及其小说《青草在歌唱》以及本文的探讨思路；其次，本论部分分为三章，第一章以小说中应用的对话描写，环境描写为例略论作用女性、生态积极发展的各种矛盾；第二章从男权社会对女性的压迫和女主人公自身性格的被动与懦弱两方面，研讨导致女主人公玛丽精神奔溃的原因；第三章说明关注女性生态的现实意义。最后，在结论部分，概括全文并总结论点。
