Abstract:
Virginia Woolf (1882一1941) is an important English woman writer in twentieth Century, and she is the main representative of the stream of consciousness and feminist pioneer. Woolf, a very sensitive writer, was surely influenced by the environment surrounded. In order to present the rapid and disturbing changes of her age, foundation of political social system losing stability, Virginia Woolf felt that it was very essential to reform her ways of expression. Therefore, she devoted herself into writing experiments and offered us works with special characteristics of her own. Using Woolf’s masterpiece To the Lighthouse as the text, this paper aims firstly to introduce briefly about Woolf and To the Lighthouse, then to analyze such writing techniques as the stream of consciousness and multiple points of view and so on, thus to enable the readers to understand and remark this novel, to explore new ideas, to enrich the whole research on Virginia Woolf.

弗吉尼亚•伍尔夫是20世纪英国伟大的现代派女作家,英语论文网站,是意识流小说的主要代表和西方女性主义先驱。伍尔夫生活在一个动荡变革的时代,现有的政治制度失去了稳定的根基,伍尔夫作为一名敏感的作家她无疑受到了所处环境的作用。伍尔夫认为文学应有所变革才能反映社会和人生,因此她投身于小说形式及内容的革新,为人们创造出独具特色的著作。本文旨在以伍尔夫的代表作《到灯塔去》为文本,首先对伍尔夫及《到灯塔去》做简要介绍,英语毕业论文,接着分别从意识流手法和多视角叙述手法这两个方面对其著作的写作技巧进行略论,进而使读者能够更客观更全面地了解和评论这部小说的主旨,以开拓新思路,丰富对弗吉尼亚•伍尔夫的总体探讨。

1. Introduction
1.1 Virginia Woolf
Virginia Woolf was born in 1882 and died in 1941. She was born in London. She was a famous scholar, historian and literary critic. Virginia was also regarded as one of the greatest writers of modernism and the pioneer of the women’s liberation.
Virginia had a complicated family. Her mother and father were remarried to each other. The household contained the children of three marriage. She had stepsisters, stepbrothers and half brothers and half sisters. She also experienced a miserable childhood. When she was 13 years old, her mother’s sudden death made her shocked. Two years later, her half sister passed away. Since that time she got a serious mental illness. Virginia suffered a serious sexual abuse from her half brother and this almost broke her down. Later she trended to love women. When her brother went to the Cambridge University, her sisters and herself had to educate themselves at father’s library. The memory noticed her discrepancy treatment between the men and women. That is why she was so active in the feminist movement. Her main works include her first novel The voyage Out (1915), Mrs.Dalloway(1919), To the Lighthouse(1927) , Orlando(1928) and so on.
