Abstract:
This paper probes into the first eponymous story in Canadian woman writer Alice Munro’s anthology of short stories Runaway. At the beginning, this paper introduces the author of this story and her works. Next it discusses the inner world of Carla lost in escape and return from three aspects: the temporary awakening of Carla’s female consciousness, the need of inner emotion, holding out the temptation of seeking herself. The simple plot reveals the ordinary women’s sensitive and rich emotion, strength in character, their states of life, and their desire, struggle and helplessness. This paper attempts to analyze the inner world of Carla with a view to delving into the theme and significance of this story and gaining a profound understanding of female consciousness. Carla’s runaway and return tell us escape is useless. Only facing the challenges of reality bravely can we gain the real independence and freedom in spirit. This is the real awakening of female consciousness.

摘 要：
本文对加拿大女作家艾丽丝•门罗的短篇小说《逃离》中的第一篇同名故事进行略论，英语论文范文，首先对作者及著作进行介绍，然后从三个方面研讨了迷失在逃离和回归之间的卡拉的内心世界：卡拉女性意识的短暂觉醒、内心情感的需要和抵制寻找自我的诱惑。简单的故事情节揭示出普通女性敏感、丰富的情感和隐忍坚强的性格，同时表现了女性的生活状态，以及他们生活中的欲望、挣扎和无奈。通过略论卡拉的内心世界，以发掘小说的主题和意义，英语论文，同时加深对女性意识的理解。卡拉的逃离和回归告诉我们逃离是没有用的，只有勇敢的面对现实的挑战，我们才能真正获得精神上的独立和自由。这才是女性意识的真正觉醒。

1 Introduction of the Author
1.1 Alice Munro’s Writing Style
Alice Munro was born in a small town called Windham in southwestern of Ontario, Canada on July 10, 1931. She with the rich reading started writing from her girlhood. Her novels are about ordinary women’s love and family daily life which staged in suburban town with serious topics related illness and death. Although Munro’s brush stroke is simple and plain, she delicately depicts the real appearance of the dull life and brings us very deep and sincere feelings.
