1 Introduction
1.1 Introduction of the Prose Poem, Images and Culture Differences
Prose poem has features of prose and poem. It not only absorbs poem’s functions of expressing subjective mental and emotional performance, but also absorbs the freedom of prose. Prose and poem become together and seamless, form prose poem’s own unique characters. Prose poem is a type of poetry characterized by its lack of line breaks. Although the prose poem resembles a short piece of prose, its allegiance to poetry can be seen in the use of rhythms, figures of speech, rhyme, internal rhyme, assonance (repetition of similar vowel sounds), consonance (repetition of similar consonant sounds), and images. Foreign prose poem and Chinese native literature characters connected together, then Chinese prose poems came out. Lu Xun’s Ye Cao is the first prose poem in Chinese literature. |
