摘 要
《圣经》这部对西方文化有着深远作用的作品，注定其成为人类探讨的焦点。《圣经》与酒的联系一直很微妙。酒在圣经中大量出现——它即被描述为上帝给人类得礼物，在各样的祭祀典礼，节日盛宴上都是不可或缺的饮品，给人们带来喜悦欢乐；同时又有许多圣经人物在醉酒后的荒诞故事发生，经上更是有大量禁止滥和饮醉酒的教训，因而酒被许多人视为万恶之源。在19世纪20世纪初禁酒被大多信徒（尤其是新教徒）普遍接受，人们关于这样的社会性变化表示默认的同时，许多精通希伯来文化的专家，英语论文，探讨圣经文学的学者，教会的牧师传道人等等对《圣经》中的酒开始关注，随之对此也开始了探讨。这篇论文主要通过对酒在圣经时代的历史文化背景以及原文希伯来文和希腊文中酒的不同表达意义与影响的略论来进一步探讨基督徒应如何基于《圣经》来对待酒。

Abstract
The Holy Bible which has a far-reaching effect on western culture is doomed to become the focus of the human research. The Bible and wine has been in very subtle relationship. The Holy Bible has abundant scriptures about wine —on the one hand, it is described as God's gift to mankind and indispensible drink on all kinds of ceremonies and festivals bringing joy and happiness；on the other hand, many cock-and-bull stories of drunk biblical characters are recorded. What’s more, large numbers of scriptures warning not to get drunk make wine the root of evil to many people. During the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, when believers generally gave tacit consent to the prohibition against alcoholic drinks, people including experts on Hebrew culture and Bible literature, pastors and preachers began to pay attention to and study biblical wine. This essay study the modern Christians’ attitude toward wine on the basic on the Holy Bible by analyzing wine in biblical times of special culture and customs, also the different meanings and functions of wine in Hebrew and Greek.

Chapter 1 Introduction
Wine is an incredibly popular kind of drink all over the world; likewise Bible plays a vital role in Western people’s daily life. However when they come together, arguments are greatly aroused that Christians who follow Jesus should not drink wine according to the cock-and-bull stories of biblical characters getting drunk and large number of harsh scriptures teaching people not to get drunk or to abuse alcoholic drinks. While another view is held that no specific warnings against proper usage of alcoholic drinks can be found in the Bible, and even lots of positive references of wine indicate the benefits of wine.
The word “wine” in Holy Bible is viewed form various perspectives according to different definitions and understandings of “wine”. The definitions of the word “wine” in English vary from different versions of dictionaries and encyclopedias during different times. That is one of the reasons why young Americans and older ones may have distinct understandings of biblical wine.
