1 Introduction
This part will give a brief introduction to the significance of the study and the organization of the thesis. The thesis tries to analyze the work from the perspective of initiation, exploring the teenagers’ mental world.
1.1 Significance of the Study
Lolita, the most famous representative work of Nabokov, has been attracting the eyes of the critics all over the world. It is a controversial work. Despite of questioning the author’s sense of morality, Lolita undoubtedly is a great work worth reading. Scholars tried to explore this novel from different views. Like Joann Karges, he studies the novel from the butterfly polymorphous perspective, and states that the novel  had a lepidoptera-centered theme. He presents that “Lolita is not a personification of the butterfly…many of her motions and her actions are analogous to those of a butterfly.”
