Abstract
The Glass Menagerie is written by the famous American dramatist Tennessee Williams, and he is one of the greatest writers in American drama. He plays a very important role in American literature. His works are popular by a large amount of readers or audiences, like The Glass Menagerie, A Streetcar Named Desire, and Cat On A Not Tin Roof and so on. All of these works are regarded as the masterpieces. After The Glass Menagerie is performed on the stage, it is immediately welcomed by the audiences. For that reason, Williams receives a great attention.
In The Glass Menagerie, Williams uses the meticulous description to vividly portray the unfortunate and difficult life of the Winfield families in the readers’ mind. Meanwhile, this work successively goes onto the stage and screen. It is considered as the “new chapter of western drama”.
In this thesis, the author analyzes The Glass Menagerie from the feminist perspective in order to refine the theme. By analyzing two important heroines in the work—Amanda and Laura, the thesis explores the tragic lives of women in the patriarchal society. In addition, this thesis illustrates the major reasons lead to the female tragedy under patriarchy. In the end, the thesis analyzes the way-out to the heroines from the feminist perspective.

《玻璃动物园》是由美国著名戏剧家舍田纳西•威廉斯创作。美国著名戏剧家田纳西•威廉斯是美国戏剧界的伟大作者之一，为美国文学作出了巨大贡献。他所创作的戏剧都颇受广大观众的喜爱，英语毕业论文，比如《玻璃动物园》、《欲望号街角》、《热铁皮屋顶上的猫》等等，都成为不朽之作。特别是他的《玻璃动物园》。该剧一经演出就受到的空前的欢迎，使得威廉斯受到了很大的关注。
在田纳西•威廉斯《玻璃动物园》这部著作中，威廉斯通过对场景，灯光，英语论文，音乐等的细致地描绘，将温菲尔德一家三口的生活的不幸和艰难展现在读者的脑海中。同时，这部著作还相继被搬上舞台和荧屏，被称为“西方戏剧的新篇章”。
本文想通过对玻璃动物园的女性主义的角度的探讨来细化该著作的主题，从略论剧中两位主要人物——母亲阿曼达和女儿劳拉，通过威廉斯对她们的描写，揭示在父权主义下的女性悲剧。同时，略论在父权社会下的女性悲剧的主要原因。最后，对剧中两位女主角的出路进行略论。
