Poe died in 1849, but his stories and poems live on as masterpieces of American horror, mystery, and romance. However, in the American literature we can not find another great writer whose fate was worse than him. He spent the most of his life in fighting with fate and adversity. Poe was in the state of delirium for several days, in 1849, at the beginning of October, deathbed he shouted “God bless me!” Then he died with a deep regret. The voice condensed his grief and indignation for his bumpy life. All of Poe’s life was penniless and frustrated, not only tasting hardship and toil, but also subjected to criticism.
