摘 要

卡勒德•胡赛尼的小说《追风筝的人》讲诉了主人公阿米尔的成长、背叛与救赎之路。小说作者通过对一个阿富汗男孩的成长描写,叙述了小说主人公的背叛和救赎。同时作者通过对阿富汗和美国两个截然不同社会的描写折射出社会和文化对人性的作用。本论文主要从人性、社会、文化、道德等方面来探讨和阐述主人公阿米尔的背叛与救赎之路,英语论文网站,研讨人性的本质,并感悟人生的救赎与人性的美好。本论文主要由四部分组成:第一部分引言主要是讲述了小说《追风筝的人》的背景以及撰写本文的原因;第二部分着重略论了主人公阿米尔背叛哈桑的原因;第三部分略论阿米尔决定救赎的原因以及他成功救赎的过程和原因;第四部分是对整篇论文的总结。

Abstract

Khaled Hosseini's novel The Kite Runner tells a story of Amir's growth, betrayal and the road of his redemption. The author describes a common Afghan boy, telling readers why he betrayed his friend and how he fulfilled his redemption. At the same time, the author also shows how society and culture affect people by describing the differences between two countries--Afghanistan and the United States. This thesis focuses on analyzing the betrayal and redemption of Amir in The Kite Runner from four angles: namely, human nature, culture, morality and society. The thesis presents the essence of humanity, and motives readers to feel and appreciate the beauty of humanity. This thesis includes four parts. The first part is the introduction. This part mainly describes the background of The Kite Runner and presents the reasons why the thesis chooses this topic. In the second part, the thesis focuses on analyzing the reasons why Amir betrayed Hassan. And the third part analyzes the reasons why Amir determined to redress his fault and how he could fulfill his redemption successfully. The last part just gives a conclusion about the whole thesis.

1 Introduction
The Kite Runner is a novel by Khaled Hosseini which was published in 2017. It has been on the New York Times bestseller list for over five years, and published in 55 different languages. It is Hosseini’s first novel, and once was adapted into a film of the same name in 2017.
Khaled Hosseini’s literary work is inspired from his life when he was a child. Hosseini’s memories of peaceful pre-soviet era Afghanistan, as well as his personal experiences with Afghanistan Hazara people, led to the writing of his first novel, The Kite Runner.
