摘要
本文旨在对艾米丽的小说《呼啸山庄》的内容和主题进行深入剖析,尝试从客观的视角研讨小说中的男主人公希斯克厉夫的性格特征。文章先从可以暗示、象征人物性格的景物和情节出发,英语论文题目,揭示希斯克厉夫的性格特征,英语论文,然后从他人生的三个阶段——少年时期、复仇时期和自我解脱时期的具体行为来理解其性格转变的过程,最后略论其性格形成的原因,归纳为三个方面:家庭环境、社会因素和自身因素。在希斯克厉夫的一生中他的性格特征很复杂,从一个正常的少年变成一个人性扭曲的魔鬼,最后又从仇恨中解脱出来恢复正常,一波三折的人生经历,让我们见到了一个魅力无穷、耐人寻味的经典人物,并能全面客观的解读艾米丽塑造的这个人物的性格特征。

Abstract
By making a profound analysis of the content and theme of Emily Bronte’s novel - Wuthering Heights, the thesis aims to explore the hero-Heathcliff’s personalities from an objective perspective. The thesis firstly starts from the scenery description and plots, which can indicate his personalities, and then through his life’s three stages -the youth, the revenge time and the final relief to understand the formation process of his personalities, finally to analyze the causes of heathcliff's personality’s formation in three aspects: family factors, social factors and his own factors. Heathcliff's personalities are so complex that few can express them very completely. In this novel, Heathcliff is a person who begins with a normal teenager, and then grows into a devil of distorted human nature, and finally ends up as a spirit freeman. The twists and turns of his life experiences show us a fascinating, intriguing and classical figure shaped by Emily, which will help us to interpret Heathcliff in a comprehensive and objective way.

1. Introduction
1.1 Introduction to Wuthering Heights
Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights, with its paradoxical, multi-layered characters and themes, has received unprecedented attention in the latest century. Novel begins with a tenant named Lockwood who comes to visit Heathcliff, the landlord of Wuthering Heights. Lockwood’s first polite visiting gains unpleasant experience at Heathciff’s dwelling. The landlord and the servant, even the dogs are impatient with him. The second visiting, Lockwood meets a young man and a young lady, but their rough manners also leave him unpleasant impression and even cause his curiosity about the past of them. This time Lockwood has to stay in Wuthering Heights because of the rough weather. In the room, which Lockwood stays, he sees a diary of someone and that night some weird things happen there. Lockwood is ill after experiencing the strange things. Staying in bed in Thrushcross Grange-the villa that Heathcliff leases him, he feels very boring. So Lockwood requires Nelly, the housekeeper who once has been in Wuthering Height for a long time to recount the story. The novel begins under Nelly’s memories.
