Abstract
As the representative of magic realism literature, Gabriel García Márquez, a Colombia writer, in Love in the Time of Cholera, with a realistic style takes the word “love” as the theme of the novel, creating a monumental work of lonely and tragic love more than half a century ago. He exposes the pitiful sight of war and cholera, and the love and misfortune of tragic characters in front of audience, like bloody wounds. His purpose is not to let us to hate or disgust, but to find and understand the tragic beauty of life and its true meaning.
Tragic beauty is a special sort of aesthetics. And it regards hardships, misery and the painful emotion as its object. At the same time it can give aesthetical judgment and comment on the tragic characters’ attitudes which they keep when they face disaster and misfortune. In other words, tragic beauty looks for the beauty from the misfortune, misery and destruction in life to judge and evaluate this kind of beauty. Based on the theory of tragic beauty, the thesis tentatively tries to analyze tragic scenes, love affairs between tragic characters and their misfortunes to dig out the reasons of their tragedy, the truth of life, and the beauty of human nature, persistence and resistance from their tragedy. What is the most important is that we should ponder over the meaning of life from their misfortunes.

摘 要
作为哥伦比亚魔幻现实文学代表,加西亚.马尔克斯，在《霍乱时期的爱情》中，用现实主义的笔调将”爱情”作为自己小说的主题，造就了一部长达半世纪的孤独而悲剧的爱情巨著。马尔克斯把战争瘟疫的惨状以及主人公爱情、命运的不幸，像伤口一样血淋淋地摊在观众面前。但作家揭示丑陋现实的目地不是未来让大家去愤恨，而是为了揭露生命的真谛和命运的悲剧美。
悲剧美是一种特殊形式的美，是把人生中的不幸与苦难，以及由此导致的生命毁灭和引发的悲哀痛苦情绪作为自己审美对象；同时，它又是对悲剧主体遭受到不幸与苦难或毁灭时所持的态度进行审美判断和评价。换句话说，悲剧美是从人生过程中的不幸、苦难或生命毁灭的对象中发现其中蕴含的美，并对这种苦难中的美进行审美评判。本文将以悲剧美为基础，对小说中悲剧场景、主人公之间的爱情纠葛和不幸命运进行细致的略论和解读，英语论文范文，探寻他们的命运因何而悲剧，以及从他们的生活真相和悲剧命运中体现出的人性美、坚持美和反抗美。最重要的是，英语论文，我们应该从他们的命运中思考生命的真正意义。
