1.1 Background of study
“Learning-plan” is a learning scheme which the teacher uses to guide the students tolearn. And it is just students’ learning programmer which is carefully designed byteachers according to the students’ cognitive level, knowledge and experience in order toguide students to do the active knowledge construction and establishment. The essence ofthe learning-plan is to help students to master the content of teaching. It is thecommunication bridge between teaching and learning. But also it is an important mediumwhich cultivates the students’ autonomous learning and knowledge construction ability.The learning-plan differs from the teaching-plan, because it is the teachers’ thinking onthe content of text standing on the students’ level of knowledge and life experienceperspective. At present, in the tide of the new curriculum reform, the traditional teachingmethods have failed to keep up with the pace of development. One of the drawbacks ofthe traditional educational modes is that we didn’t regard the students as an independentand lively person in the process of education and teaching. And the students have been inthe position where they receive knowledge passively, which suppresses the students’subjectivity, stifles the students’ consciousness of independent study and formation anddevelopment of innovative ability.

1.2 Purpose of choosing the study
Along with the deepening of reform and opening up, foreign language education isbecoming particularly important. The principal aim of English teaching in senior highschool is to make students further know the purpose of English learning and develop theability of autonomous learning and cooperative learning, so that students can formeffective learning strategies and their comprehensive ability to use language can betrained. On the other hand, English reading is the process of students’ active thinking andthe process of students’ understanding and accepting the information. The level ofEnglish reading is the measure of English learners’ comprehensive language level. At thesame time, we attach great importance to training students’ reading ability in the Englishteaching. What’s more, the requirements of reading teaching are also increasing. So theEnglish reading ability is vital for English learning. But in recent years we haven’t paidmuch attention to English reading in senior high school English teaching and we didn’thave a good method of training English reading ability. English reading is the foundationfor learning English and it decides on the other aspects of English learning. Englishreading ability includes both knowledge points reading ability and communicativereading ability.

2.1 Concepts of learning-plan teaching
"Learning Plan" is the case of the whole process of learning activities, whichcontains students' direct participation, exploring problems and language points'consolidation under the guidance of teachers'.
