1.1 Research Background
With the development of international tourism, and also with the policies of reform andopening to the outside world, there are tens of millions foreigners come to China to have a trip;Chinese people go to abroad to spend their holidays, too. In this case, English becomes alingua franca in cross–cultural communication. And travel agencies need higher qualities staffto enlarge their business, but refer to the current situation of vocational college students’ oraltourism English skills, the result is unoptimistic. In the last three decades, Chinesegovernment has been paying attention to English teaching. What’s more, English is a growingpart of our lives in the 21stcentury. There has been an increasing awareness that many peopleare affected by poor English, especially by oral English. In order to keep pace with the socialdevelopment, many methods and policies were carried out in vocational English teaching andin oral English teaching. Unfortunately, with the influence of test-oriented teaching modeduring the middle schools, many of the students don’t have positive attitude towards Englishlearning. Thus the learning effect is obvious to all, and there's no lack of dummy Englishlearners. While the aim of vocational college English teaching turns to communication-basedone, the students cannot switch their learning attitude when they enroll into college for thefirst weeks, and even for the first months. Though, we have attached much more importanceto English teaching, especially to oral English, oral tourism English teaching in the vocationalcolleges in China is still encountered with some problems. When they go to college, they arestill ashamed to express their ideas in English or even speak loud in English. Definitely, thereare so many methods which have been put into oral English teaching, such as SituationalTeaching Method, Cooperative Learning Method, etc., the effort seem not very obvious.

1.2 Research Purpose and Significance
As we all know that restricted by the long-term test-oriented trend, English educationhas gradually lost its original purpose. English language learning should not be a test-orientededucation, especially the oral one. The problems can be dated back to the middle school time, during that time, the students suffered from the test-oriented teaching mode, and they are notencouraged to speak the language and to express their ideas in English. That is middle-schoolteachers usually adopt teacher-center teaching method, or the so called spoon-fed teachingmethod. They always ignore the quality education, and they only pursue one standard onteaching evaluation, that is mark and the entrance examination rate. For this reason, they alsoignore the training of non-intelligence factors of knowledge. In daily education, they alwaysemphasize the importance of quality education, but they ignored that it is teachers who are thecritical factor to carry out quality-oriented education. Then, it is easy to understand why thereare so many dummy English learners after more than ten years English learning, and why somany students do not have interests in English learning, especially oral English learning inChina vocational college. Teachers’ attitudes decide the students learning effects. In suchEnglish class, students only accept knowledge passively and negatively. And,英语毕业论文,英语论文范文
