Application delivered as a service over Internet and system programs and hardware in the data centers are referred to be the core components of cloud computing. The IT infrastructure that consists of software and hardware is called as cloud computing. It is being widely accepted as the core infrastructure practices inspite of being a very new invention. The main benefit of cloud computing is virtualized infrastructure that gives a logical separation between many computing systems just appearing like different physical machines. Many distributed computer systems are created by sharing a large pool of common system resources, capable of handling large amount computation.
Parallel computing, distributed computing and grid computing are important pillars of cloud computing. They are almost same but there is some margin in their differentiation. The emergence of cloud computing has taken a lot of research and development for many years in the field of computer science. The name "Cloud" appeared due to it’s existence over internet and world wide web. While simplifying the term, it can be defined as the usage of applications and system resources of a network infrastructure on a single interface or even as a bunch of service. If you are a cloud computing user, the data will be no longer stored at your local desktop. It will be housed over somewhere on the internet resource, available from anywhere and anytime.
Cloud computing is a more suitable solution for the organizations, wanting to reduce their technical infrastructure burdens. They will no longer require to carry IT professionals to manage their IT resources. They will not need to purchase expensive hardware and network devices. There must be a long consideration before going with cloud computing practices. These practices include the availability of feasible internet connection.
