The present study investigates factors affecting Yunnan-Guizhou ethnic minority graduate students＇ academic listening in Thai universities,their coping strategies and self-efficacy. The results indicate that learner factors,culture and background factors and teacher factors all exert influence on students＇ academic listening. Students in the present study tend to use more cognitive strategies to better their listening outcomes than social-affective, meta-cognitive and memory strategies. Besides,students＇ self-efficacy in academic listening is in the medium level.
