Abstract:
With the rapid development of Chinese and western cross-cultural communication, body language as an important part of the nonverbal communication plays an irreplaceable role in the Chinese and western cross-cultural communication. Under the different cultural backgrounds, body languages have different connotations and performance. So, to explore the cultural factors behind the differences in Chinese and western body languages is of great significance to reduce the misunderstandings and frictions in Chinese and western cross-cultural communication. This paper aims to study the differences in Chinese and western body language in cross-cultural communication, and finds out the cultural factors behind these differences.
After making an overview study of body language, this paper focuses on the comparative analysis of the differences in Chinese and western body language. The paper also analyses the reasons for the differences in Chinese and western body language to make readers understand the differences deeply.
