Abstract
Metaphor can be seen everywhere in daily life. It is not just a rhetorical way to make language vivid but essentially a way of thinking manifested through language.
Political speech plays an important role in the political life in the West; many successful politicians are also famous orators. Obama's inaugural addresses have attracted worldwide attention. A lot of metaphors are used in the discourse, and the speeches also achieved good results. Therefore, it is necessary as well as meaningful to study them from a cognitive perspective. Metaphorical analysis Obama's inaugural speeches can not only deepen people’s understanding of the words in speech, but also reveal the hidden meanings political speeches.
The thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction. The second chapter is about traditional views of metaphor. The third chapter mainly discusses the conceptual metaphor theory. The fourth chapter is the key part of this paper, analyzing metaphors in Obama inauguration speech from the perspective of conceptual metaphor theories. The fifth chapter is the conclusion.

摘 要
隐喻是日常生活中随处可见的现象，英语论文题目，它不单单只是一种让语言锦上添花的修辞方式，英语论文，从本质上说隐喻是认知的，是一种通过语言表现出来的思维方式。
政治演说在西方政治生活中扮演着十分重要的角色，许多成功的政治家同时也是著名的演说家。奥巴马就职演说这一特定话题领域吸引着全世界的关注,语篇中使用了大量的隐喻,演说也取得了良好的效果。因此，从认知的角度对其进行奥巴马就职演说里的隐喻进行略论很有必要。通过对奥巴马就职演说的隐喻略论，不仅可以加深对演说词的了解，而且也对美国政治言语下的隐藏寓意有所了解。
本文共五章。第一章引言部分。第二章为传统隐喻观点。第三章主要论述概念隐喻。第四章为本文的重点部分，从概念隐喻理论角度对奥巴马就职演说中的隐喻进行略论。第五章是结论。
