1. Introduction
Black English is a variant of American English. Unlike ordinary English, Black English which is one of many variants has differences in many aspects with other variants. The pronunciation, grammar and other characteristics of Black English is not arbitrary. Black English was formed from a variety of different language variants, such as Negro Pidgin (black PIDGIN), Negro Creole (black Creole), Negro dialect (Negro dialect), Negro English (black English), Non-Standard Negro English (nonstandard black English), Black English Vernacular (black English dialect), Afro-American English (African American English), Black English (black English) , etc. In fact, academic questions about the origin and development of Black English are still there, but the structure and function of Black English have made a more consistent view.
Black English evolved through the centuries of integration of white English. Though it has changed dramatically, it still retains its unique pronunciation, syntactic features, and has its own unique vocabulary. Although Black English pronunciation rules and syntax have obvious differences with Standard English, it will play an important role in the United States as a part of the country.
Black English as a variant of the standard American English retains its own unique characteristics, including pronunciation, grammar, syntax and other features. People in black community always think their language is very important, and always wanted to maintain the uniqueness of Black English. However, separating the Blacks and the Whites totally is impossible. Black English is constantly developing.
