摘要
21世纪的中美两国是处于当今世界政治、经济、军事舞台上的两位王者。前者拥有辉煌灿烂的五千年文明史而后者在近几百年的飞速发展中已经取得了骄人的成就，凌驾于世界之巅让人们遐想这两个民族是怎样促使其成长，而两国间各自流行的体育活动能够基本诠释其中的内涵。
中华民族以其勤劳奋进而闻名远方，岁月的流逝、社会的进步，中华儿女以其博大的胸襟开创着一个又一个新的篇章。锐意进取是每个华夏儿女孜孜不倦所不断追索的，集体能力的完美展示也树立了一个民族的良好形象。中国的体育活动以集体项目而举世闻名，乒乓球、羽毛球、体操等无不展示中国人的集体力量之强劲；美利坚合众国以其包容的心态吸纳世界一切优秀资源而促使其不断成长壮大，强劲的个人意识也使美国在不断开拓进取。NBA在美国的风靡程度可以显现这种个人魅力正在拉升这个民族在向前迈进。
作为在世界上有重要作用的大国，中美有着迥异的文化，中华民族和美利坚民族在各自的发展历程中，由于历史文化、宗教信仰、地理环境等因素的异同，造就了两者之间各具特点的民族性格。而且作为世界上最大的发展中国家和最大的发达国家，中国和美国必将对今后世界的发展和历史走向产生巨大的作用。本论文的目的在于通过其所流行的体育来阐明二者所蕴含的不同民族文化特质，为世人略论两国提供一定的理论指导。

ABSTRACT
21st Century China and America are the two kings in today's world of political, economic, and military stage. The former has a glorious history of five thousands years，and the latter in the past several hundred years of rapid development has made remarkable achievements. With these huge successes, the other people may think how these two nations could promote their growth, and between their respective popular sports can get the basic interpretation of the meaning of them.
Chinese people’s endeavor is known for its hard-working, with the passage of time, social progress and its broad-minded, Chinese people create a new chapter. Forge ahead diligently by every Chinese people continued to pursue, the perfect collective capacity also set a good image of this nation. China's collective sports are world-famous, like table tennis, badminton, gymnastics and so on, which show strength of the Chinese people strong collective concept；United States of America absorb all the excellent resources of the world by its tolerant attitude and continue to grow its multi-ethnic fusion, strong concept of the individual mind also let the United States explore ahead. NBA's popularity in the United States can show this level of Charisma which pulled up the nation to move forward.
With important influence of these two countries in the world have a different culture, the Chinese and the American nation in their own course of development in history, culture, religion, geographical factors such as differences created between the features of national character. And as the world's largest developing country and the largest developed country, China and the United States are bound to the future trend of world development and have an enormous impact on history. The purpose of this thesis through their popular sports to clarify the different culture between the two countries, for people to analyze them provide theoretical guidance.
