摘要
《教父》是1969年美国出版的长篇小说，是美国出版史上的头号畅销书，早在七十年代初已拍成电影，发行世界各国，受到普遍欢迎。小说中的主人公教父也无疑是最有名的小说人物之一。本文试图从弗洛伊德精神略论法角度，从人格的结构模型（本我、自我、超我）和地形模型（意识、前意识、潜意识）角度，结合小说《教父》中对教父人物形象的具体描述，英语论文，英语论文，以小说中教父所扮演的不同社会角色为基础：儿童时期的教父、作为杀人凶手的教父、作为他人朋友的教父、作为一名社会成员的教父、作为父亲的教父，作为商人的教父，对小说主人公“教父”的形象进行剖析，从而去更好地帮助我们理解小说教父中得教父人物形象 。

Abstract
The Godfather, a best seller, was published in United States in the 1969 .It was adapted into a movie in the early 70 's and was issued around the world. This article attempts to study the image of the Godfather from the perspective of Freudian psychoanalysis, which includes the structural model-the id, ego, superego-and the topographical models of the personality-uncouscious, preconscious,conscious. The analysis used the specific text of the novel Godfather and it lays its base on the differ roles that the Godfather play in the novel: the Godfather as a child, the Godfather as a killer, the Godfather as a friend, the Godfather as a social member, the Godfather as a father and the Godfather as a businessman. The analysis helps us to understand the personality of the Godfather better.

1 Introduction
This article attempts to study the image of the Godfather from the perspective of Freudian psychoanalysis with the specific content of the novel. By using Freudian Psychoanalysis, the thesis tries to get a better understanding of his personality. More importantly, it can help us understand the underlying reasons why he becomes the man he is and the formation of his personality. This paper consists of three parts. The first chapter briefly introduces the work. The second chapter demonstrates the Freudian psychoanalysis. The third chapter analyses the characteristics of the Godfather from the perspective of Freudian psychoanalysis.
2 An analysis of the work –Godfather
Mario Puzo wrote the Godfather, which is a crime novel, originally published in 1969. It tells the story of a Mafia family in New York City. Don Vito Corleone is the father of the family, who became synonymous with the Italian Mafia(Dong Jingjing，1999). The novel provides the back story of Vito Corleone from early childhood to adulthood.
