摘要
这篇论文主要通过深入了解《绝望主妇》中人物性格转变最明显，最吸引观众眼球的嘉布丽尔这个角色塑造转变的过程，抓住其人物性格的主要特点来探索出怎么样的母爱才是真的伟大，以及什么样的人生才是真的有意义。关于这个问题的探讨研讨可以借助于理论探讨，比如通过相关书籍的阅读和影视的观赏，完成诸如人物性格了解以及略论，并明确人物特点的解读措施。另外，略论对比也是本文的一个主要的探讨措施，主要表现在通过对比嘉布丽尔自己本身的前后的巨大变化以及嘉布丽尔与另外一个时尚美丽的主妇同时也是一个母亲的艾迪关于母爱的不同理解以及关于各自孩子的不同态度与做法的对比进行略论得出伟大母爱的真正含义。此外，案例略论是另外一个探讨措施，通过对发生在嘉布丽尔身上的一些具体的对她有重大作用的案例进行略论从而对其人生进行探寻解读。

Abstract
This research paper describes the great changes happened on Gabrielle, the most attractive character in a popular TV series called Desperate Housewives. The character analysis of her helps us have a better understanding of what is the true mother love and what is the meaning of life. With the assistance of theoretical research, the literature reviews of related references and the conjecture of the TV show, the changes in character Gabrielle and the meaning of her being mature can be explored. Besides, contrast is another method to investigate this character. The contrast between her pervious action and later behavior, and the comparison between the different attitudes to their own kids and comprehensions to mother love of Gabrielle and another hot mommy Edie, are more persuasive to get the main point. Case analysis will be also available in this paper. Some important and significant events in her life not only shape her character and also reflect her uniqueness, features and qualities. The study of these cases will lead to the reasons of her great changes and have a better understanding of her life and get a deeper insight of life meaning.

1 Introduction
Desperate Housewives is an American television comedy-drama series (徐林, 2017). It shows the life in Wisteria Lane Street in the fictional American town of Fairview in Eagle State. It follows the lives of a group of women, seen through the eyes of their dead neighbor. They work through domestic struggles and family life, while facing the secrets, crimes and mysteries hidden behind the doors of their—at the surface—beautiful and seemingly perfect suburban neighborhood.
The show features an ensemble cast, headed by Teri Hatcher as Susan Mayer, Felicity Huffman as Lynette Scavo, Marcia Cross as Bree Van de Kamp and Eva Longoria Parker as Gabrielle Solis. Brenda Strong narrates the show as the deceased Mary Alice Young, appearing sporadically in flashbacks or dreams.
