Abstract and Key Words
Abstract: In the world, every nation has its own characteristics which can be understood mainly through its culture when we first try to know the nation. Culture or custom can not be said to be right or wrong and equal respect should be attached to every culture in the world, even to those that are not in existence any more. With the continuous development of cross-cultural communication, cultural exchanges between Chinese and Western food and table manners will be complementary and compatible. Therefore, it is necessary get to learn how to coordinate among the different cultures to avoid the cultural collision. This paper gives account of the relations among table culture, cross-cultural communication, iceberg theory, and pragmatic and then discusses the specific different existence of table manners to analyze a lot factors that lead to these differences. Studying these differences can promote the cultural exchange effectively.

摘要：世上，每个民族都有自己的特点。当开始了解这个民族和特征时，最主要措施还是了解它的文化。各个文化或者习俗的是与非无法评判，世上存在的每一种文明都应受到平等的对待，英语论文网站，即使是已经消失了的。随着跨文化交际的不断发展，英语论文范文，中西饮食餐桌文化交流、互补和兼容的因素也会日益增多。因此，学会如何协调不同的文化，以及尽量避免文化冲突已成当务之急。本文首先介绍了餐桌文化与跨文化交际、冰山理论以及语用学的联系。然后讨论了中西餐桌礼仪中存在的不同之处，最后以此来略论导致这些异同的因素。探讨这些异同，可以有效促进中西文化交流。

1. Introduction
An old saying goes like that food is the most important for people. Eating, in today's society is not a simple problem to fill his stomach, but reflects more of the cultural connotation. Nowadays, there is a thriving development of catering, just as an array of all kinds of restaurants and hotels, unconventional exotic flavors and dishes. More and more people gathered around the table, drinking and laughing happily. Tables provide an important space and time for people's daily activities. Every day there perform a wonderful microcosm of the big stage of life and all kinds of stories. Elegant table manners are likely to bring you trusted friends for life, a brilliant and successful career, and even happy marriage. It is clear that eating has penetrated into all aspects of social life, showing the state and national culture bit by bit.
As a social custom, table manners are determined by the culture around the world and have some differences. China has deep natural ancient civilizations as long as table manners. The western countries also have the process of national integration and the modernization formed their own table manners. There are many differences in the table manners between China and the west. Researching it will help people to learn the language culture and improve the ability of communication in the cross-culture practice.
