Abstract: The communication of human consists of verbal communication and nonverbal communication. Nonverbal communication plays an indispensable and important role. Employing nonverbal communication properly can helps to transfer mess messages and promote the international communication and economy development. This essay makes an contrastive study of nonverbal communication under different cultures and hopes the analysis can contribute to the success in international communication.

摘要:人类的日常交际包括语言交际和非语言交际两种形式,英语论文,非语言交际作为不可缺少的一部分有着举足轻重的影响。各种非语言交际手段的恰当运用可以传递丰富的信息,英语论文,促进国际交流和发展。本文将对跨文化交际中非语言交际进行略论,了解不同文化下不同的非语言交际行为,从而更加有效地进行跨文化交际。

1. Introduction
With the development of cooperation between different countries in recent decades, cross-culture communication is getting more and more frequent, and many scholars begin to emphasize the importance of nonverbal communication research.
Nonverbal communication is very important. In the research by professor Birdwhite of Pennsylvania University, he finds that during the communication of same culture, verbal communication occupies at most 30%. Samovar thinks that only 35% of message is transferred through verbal communication, others are by nonverbal communication. All these numbers show the importance of nonverbal communication.
The first scientific study of nonverbal communication was published in 1872 by Charles Darwin in his book, The Expression of the Emotions in Man and Animals. This book, which is a systematic research on human and animal’s psychology and expressing way, has played an essential role in contemporary nonverbal communication studies. Nowadays, many scholars such as Birdwhistell, Hall, Malandro, Hu Wenzhong and Bi Jiwan etc. have made great contributions to the investigation of nonverbal communication.
