1 Introduction
News, very close to people in daily life, has more and more influence on people's life. News has two basic qualities. Firstly, news comes from the objective reality and reflects the new change from society. Secondly, it not only satisfies one's need but also publishes to the world. Facts, news and audience are the trilogy of news. So what is news?
The oldest definition is "News is something revealed", and the funniest one is "When a dog bites a man that is not news, but when a man bites a dog that is news". John Bogart, director of New York Sun, wrote the well-known saying in 1880. Most people thought it ridiculous at that time, but it tells us one of the called news value: freshness.
