1.Introduction
1.1 Background
In 1967, Grice’s cooperative principle was first put forward in his speech at Harvard University. Thereafter, Horn (1984) and Levinson (1987) as the representatives of the pragmatic experts improved and summarized the theory constantly, which was established as a new theoretical system of interpretation of conversational behavior. And then Horn (1984) deepened and presented his Q (quantity) and R (relation) principles. Later, Levinson (1987) put forward three principles of “Neo-Gricean pragmatic apparatus”: Q-principle, I-principle and M-principle (qtd in Jin Li, 2017:11). Horn and Levinson's new principles emphasized the two-way of the communication, which means that the speaker and hearer hold different hypotheses in the expression and interpretation of speech act in the process. They are based on the cooperation, mutual information and the other hypotheses, thus achieving the interpretation of discourse.
