Abstract
Taking the dating show “If You Are the One” as data, this paper analyzes how the host makes good use of humorous language to appraise the participants, ultimately constructing his own stance on the stage. Methodologically, this paper employs the Appraisal Theory. Based on eight series of the dating show “If You Are the One”, this paper explores how the host deals with the relationships among male guests, female guests, audience and public opinions when he uses humorous speech to appraise. This paper finds that by employing humorous language to appraise the behaviors of others, mainly regarding their appearances, utterances and values, the host builds comic atmosphere and advocates positive moral values in the program on the one hand, and on the other hand, he builds his stance as a moderator rather than a critic.

本文以相亲类节目《非诚勿扰》为例，英语毕业论文，略论了相亲类节目主持人如何正确应用幽默语言的评价功能对其节目中的男女嘉宾进行评价，并最终塑造其自身独特的主持人姿态。本文详细描述了评价系统的相关理论，结合八期相亲类节目的具体语境，讨论主持人使用幽默语言进行评价时如何处理男嘉宾、女嘉宾、观众和社会舆论之间的联系。基于所采集的语料，论文发现主持人综合使用幽默语言评价现场他人的行为， 包括其外在着装打扮，言语及观念，英语论文网站，一方面营造幽默气氛并传达积极向上的时代精神和社会观念，另一方面将自我形象定位为节目的调节者与缓和剂，而非纯粹的评判者。

Within the framework of Appraisal Theory, this paper discusses in detail how the host employs humorous language to appraise the behaviors of others, mainly regarding their appearances, utterances and values, to balance the relationships among male guests, female guests, audience and public opinions. By means of his skillful use of humorous language, the host creates more comic effect and advocates positive moral values, and finally, builds his stance as a discourse guide and moderator, rather than a critic. |
