Abstract: According to the close relations between China and the rest of the world, the business activities are undergoing a significant period, in which English correspondence plays an important role. It’s not enough for a businessman to master only the cooperative words. He should know all kinds of the methods to process the business activities. As one category of them, refusal is absolutely necessary, and business refusal letters often give a good example for those men who are elite. There is no doubt that both sides want to reach a win-win achievement. Thus and naturally, most businessmen spare no efforts to learn to appeal to each other. Whatsoever, we have to refuse some inquiries along with meeting mutual needs. The analysis in this article can give the business persons who are in charge of business correspondence some reliable theories and useful suggestions. That is to say, a series of mistakes and errors can be avoided. In this paper, it gives analysis to some business refusal letters under the frame of cooperative principle, which talks about the rules obeyed by the two sides of people in a dialogue. It gives a good series of rules to guide composing a high-quality business refusal letter. The aim is to give a direction and some suggestions for the business learners and help to come out a business cooperation of good quality.

摘  要:随着中国和世界其他国家或地区之间联系越来越紧密,商务活动也在经历一个重要的阶段,其中英语商务信函扮演者重要的角色。关于一位商务人士来说,仅仅掌握了合作性的话语是不够的。他还要学会各种交流的技巧以用来处理商场的各种情况。而作为这么多情况中的一种,拒绝类是不可或缺的一种,商务拒绝信函的使用就为那些想成为商界谈判精英的商务人士们提供了一个好的学习模板。毫无疑问,合作双方都想达到一个双赢的结果,因此自然而然地,很多人不遗余力地想去取悦对方。实际上,他们为了各自的利益而不得不拒绝一些要求。这篇文章中的略论会给那些处理信函的人们一些可靠的理论和建议。也就是说,一系列的误解和错误都可以避免。合作准则认为人们在会话过程中会遵循某一些原则。这篇论文会在以合作准则为框架的指导下,对一些商务拒绝类信函进行略论,为写好一份良好的商务拒绝类信函提供一系列的规范。本文的目的是为商务学习者们一个大致的方向和一些具体的建议,同时也对一个好的商务合作有益。
