大学英语教学中的项目学习模式----Application of PBL in College English teaching                   
探讨者以济宁医学院大学英语教学为例,为解决目前教学中的困难,提高教学质量,英语毕业论文英语论文,在非英语系大学生中运用基于项目的学习模式,同时开展PBL运用于英语教学效果的探讨。
Chapter One Introduction
1.1 Overview
In traditional English teaching,we habitually think that teaching is learning and good teachers mean good learning.English teachers are the centers of the class,which has been dominated English teaching for many years and still popular in many college English classes while students only play a passive role during the learning process. English teachers control the whole process of the course,pay much attention to language explanation,grammatical rules and meanwhile neglect what the students want.Students just focus on remembering and understanding words and texts and have no chance to use English in a real situation.This is against the principles of learning a foreign language and national teaching syllabus.
Nowadays,college English teaching is facing great challenges and difficulties in China.Too much time and effort on English were spent,but the satisfactory result didn’t appear.Most of Chinese students begin to learn English when they are in primary school or even in kindergarten.Many English schools for pre-school children and pupils are very popular and the tuition is very high.Take Hope English for example,one year tuition for a primary students is over¥7,000.Parents and students are willing to invest much money and time in English learning.Such condition will be lasting till they enter colleges.When the learners enter college or university,they have learned English for at least 9 years but they are still not satisfied and become frustrated with the learning result for failing to communicate in nature and elegant English in the real English contexts and to meet the requirements of the college students and the high Education.Is college English teaching satisfactory and suit to solve the difficulties and the challenges?
According to an investigation made by the researcher in Jining Medical College in 2017,nearly 50%students believe that College English teaching methods should be improved because they cannot set apart college English classes from middle school English classes which mainly focus on texts,grammars,exercises and rigid composition.64%students think that they learn deaf English and have no ability of communication.70%students think that they should communicate more in English to improve their spoken English.88%think the reason why they try hard to learn English is to pass CET-4 or get a chance to go abroad to further education.34.2%students failed to find a good learning way and 24.4%students have no ideas about effective learning method.Only 41.4%students have found effective ways to learn English well.84%think that they want to accept a new learning method if the teacher helps them and guide them.From the investigation above,the researcher believe most of the college students want to learn English well and they are puzzled by the present college English teaching.
How to learn English well is not a new topic to the researchers,experts and teachers home and abroad?They have made lots of exploration in this field but which teaching method is the best one is still undecided.The researcher has taught English over 10 years and adopted many methods to teach English but good and satisfactory result has not been seen.
