ABSTRACT
With the increasing number of foreigners traveling to China, the translation of public signs in scenic spots plays a vital role in information transfer. However, many problems still exist in a lot of public signs translations. Some translations cannot achieve public signs’ intended purpose. Therefore, study on the translation of public signs in scenic spots becomes an urgent and significant task.
Skopos theory says that the first principle which all translation activities should follow is the skopos rule. The translation process is determined by the purpose which translation behavior wants to achieve. Skopos theory adheres to three principles: skopos rule, coherence rule and loyalty principle. From the perspective of skopos theory, this thesis carries out a case study of the translation of public signs in Chongqing Foreigner Street, analyzing its advantages and disadvantages, and summing up some corresponding strategies and methods to deal with the translation of public signs in scenic spots. This thesis makes some explorations in the translation of public signs in scenic spots, applying skopos theory to guide the translation of public signs in scenic spots.

摘 要
随着越来越多的外国游客到中国旅游,景点标示牌的翻译就对游客起着至关重要的信息传递影响。但是,现在许多地区的景点标示牌翻译存在较多问题,其翻译并不能达到标示牌的预期目的。因此,对景点标示语的翻译探讨就成了目前较为迫切的任务。
由弗米尔提出的翻译目的论认为,英语论文题目,英语论文题目,所有翻译活动要遵循的首要准则是目的准则。翻译活动所希望达到的目的决定了翻译过程。目的论坚持三准则:目的准则,连贯性准则和忠实性准则。本论文以重庆洋人街景点标示牌翻译为例,从目的论的角度略论洋人街标示牌翻译的优缺点,总结出景点标示牌翻译的一些恰当策略和措施。本论文为景点标识牌的翻译思路进行了一些探究,将目的论运用于指导景点标示牌的翻译。
