Abstract
As a communication tool in international trade, Business English plays an important role. It is a type of vocational English involving multi-levels of business activities with strict but brief linguistic features. With the rapid development of international trade, people have a tendency to use simple language to express rich content for saving time and space. In such cases, different kinds of abbreviations are widely used. Consequently, it is necessary to study the translation strategies of abbreviations in Business English.
This thesis is divided into five parts. Part one analyzes Business English from origin, concept and features. Part two also introduces abbreviations from origin, definition and features. Part three describes the characteristics and application areas of abbreviations in Business English. Part four classifies abbreviations in Business English into acronyms, initialisms, clippings and blends. Then part five interprets the five specific strategies of translating abbreviations in Business English from transliteration, free translation, extended translation, direct reference and combined translation with some examples.
This thesis aims at offering efficient translation strategies of abbreviations in Business English for those engaged in international trade in order to avoid misunderstanding. Besides, this thesis also helps people make proper translation so as to arouse good will of the other party and promote the cooperation to be conducted smoothly.

摘 要
作为国际贸易的一种交流工具，商务英语扮演着重要的角色。它是一种涉及多层次商业活动的职业英语，有着严谨但简洁的语言特征，同时也不断创造出新的词汇。随着国际贸易的快速发展，为了节省时间与空间，人们倾向于使用简单的语言来表达丰富的内容。在这种情况下，不同种类的缩略语被广泛使用于商务英语中。因此探讨商务英语中缩略语的翻译策略是很有必要的。
论文分为五个部分。第一部分从起源，概念以及特征三个方面对商务英语进行了略论。第二部分也从起源，定义及特征三个方面介绍了缩略语。第三部分描述了缩略语在商务英语中的特点及运用领域。第四部分将商务英语中缩略语分为首字母拼音词，英语毕业论文，首字母缩略词，截短词和拼缀词四类。第五部分则从意译，直译，延伸译，英语论文范文，直接引用和混合译五个方面对商务英语中缩略语的翻译策略进行举例略论。
该论文的目的在于为国际贸易从业人士提供商务英语中缩略语的有效翻译策略，以避免产生误解。此外，论文还有助于人们做出恰当的翻译，从而引起对方的好感，推动合作的顺利开展。
