Abstract
This thesis first introduces the famous theory Cooperative Principles, which was put forward by Grace in 1795. Then the author discusses the definition and four maxims of Cooperative Principle and the violation of the four maxims. Then comes the concept of English puns. In this chapter, this paper pays more attention on the classification of English puns and then offers some examples accordingly. Next is the most important part of this paper-English puns with the four maxims and the violation of them used in ads, daily communication and literature. In this chapter, the author analyzes some English puns used in the above three fields through the perspective of Cooperative Principles. Then the concept of context is discussed because context plays an important role in comprehending the implicatures in puns. At the same time, the paper attempts to discuss the English puns as the research object from the aspect of English puns in advertisements, in literature works, and in daily life, using the method of contextual analysis. And some translation methods of English puns are also discussed in this thesis. This research is of significance for greater knowledge about English puns and helps us better appreciate English puns.

摘 要
本论文首先引入1975年由著名语言学家格莱斯提出的合作准则的概念，讨论合作准则的四个著名原则以及原则的违反。然后引出英语双关语的概念及五大分类，并对每项分类列举了相应的例子，英语论文范文，以方便理解。接下来引出文章的重心——从合作准则看英语双关语在英语广告、日常交流和文学著作中的应用。本章里，作者着重举例略论了从合作准则看英语双关语在这三大领域里的应用。因为语境在理解含有双关语的会话言语中起着相当重要的影响，论文对语境的概念也作了介绍。同时，本文将英语双关语作为探讨对象，应用语境略论的措施，从英语双关语在广告，文学著作和日常生活三种具体的语境中的应用的角度，试图进行略论研讨。在论文中，作者还提出并探寻了一些英语双关语的翻译措施与翻译技巧。论文着重从语境的角度来略论英语双关语这一修辞手法，并对其翻译进行了探索，旨在加深人们对英语双关语的认识及应用。
