Abstract:
News Headline is often regarded as “journalistic eye,” and the title is a high-level summary of news content. As good news headlines not only help readers better understand the news content, but also arouse more interests. China Daily is the only national English-language newspaper and the most authoritative English medium in China, which begins to have more and more readers from all over the world. The author takes China Daily for an example, and starts a study on the features of English news titles and their translations. Firstly, major features in words, grammar, and punctuation are respectively introduced. It enables readers to know about features in advance and learn to read news headlines, accordingly, master the main idea of news. Furthermore, the author analyzes the translation of China Daily news headlines. In order to attract readers, news editors often use a lot of tricks to make headlines attractive, thus, readers can not only be familiar with the features of headlines, but also master certain skills so as to understand English news headlines and the general idea. Literal translation, free translation, ellipsis, adding notes to words, application of the rhetoric, using slangs or proverbs, using proper voice and tense in the translation are respectively discussed. Focusing on the translation methods of news headline, the study could effectively help readers quickly and accurately understand the content of China Daily.

摘 要：
新闻标题常被视作“新闻报导的眼睛”，一个好的英文标题，不仅有助于读者更好地理解新闻内容，更能激起读者阅读兴趣。《中国日报》作为世界各国了解中国的最具权威性的英文媒体，现在开始拥有来自全球的越来越多的读者。笔者就以《中国日报》为例，分别从用词、语法、和标点符号等方面来解读中国日报新闻标题的特点。只有事先了解这些特点，才能读懂标题，再理解标题的意思以及预测新闻主旨。除此之外，笔者还要解读中国日报新闻标题的翻译措施，为了吸引读者，新闻编辑应用了大量的技巧使其标题富有吸引力，因此读者不仅要熟知新闻标题的特点，英语论文网站，同时还要掌握一定的翻译技巧才能看懂英语新闻标题以及理解新闻大意。笔者从直译、意译、省略、添加注释性词语、使用修辞、使用俚语或谚语、应用恰当的语态等多角度来解读中国日报新闻标题的翻译措施，英语论文，以便让读者快速、准确地理解《中国日报》的新闻内容。
