摘要：
本文以交通公示语为主题，英语论文范文，英语论文，分五个部分来论述：首先简要说明了探讨的原因、措施和意义。其次，概括介绍了我国公示语的定义、特点和分类，重点介绍了交通公示语。再次介绍了目的论及目的理论的三个重要翻译准则，为交通公示语的英译提供理论支持。第四部分从目的三法则阐述了交通公示语的翻译及失误；接着提出一些交通公示语的翻译策略：借用，模仿，改写。最后概括总结全文，以期通过提出交通公示语翻译的可行性方法， 提高汉语交通公示语的英译水平。

Abstract:
Focused on the traffic signs, this thesis consists of five parts: the first part gives an introduction of the causes, methods, and significance of this study. The second part gives a brief presentation to the definition, classification and features of signs, then gives prominence to the traffic signs. Then Skopos theory as well as its three translation principles is introduced as the theoretical basis in the third part. In the fourth part, errors in the translation of traffic signs are set forth from the viewpoint of three principles of skopos theory, and the following are some strategies on translation of traffic signs: borrowing, parody, and adaptation. The conclusion part gives a summary of the thesis, expecting to improve the quality of English translation of Chinese traffic signs by putting forward some feasible strategies.

1. Introduction
Under conditions of globalization, the communications between China and foreign countries are getting more and more frequent. Nowadays, it has become a trend to match the Chinese signs with their English translations, which provides convenience for the foreigners working, studying or living in China. With the epic success of the Beijing Olympic Games and the Shanghai Expo 2017, people are paying more and more attention to the English translation of Chinese signs. To some extent, the translation of signs reveals the developing level of a city.
Among the various kinds of public signs, traffic signs play an irreplaceably important role in our daily life, helping the passers-by and representing the city images.
However, there exist innumerable errors in the translation of traffic signs. Inappropriate translations of traffic signs may postpone the internationalization of a city and downgrade the image of our country. Consequently, the study of public signs as well as their translation becomes an urgent and significant task.
