Abstract and Key Words
Abstract: Film title translation is important and also creative work. An excellent translated version can contribute a lot to the box-office sale of a new film. Creative treason is always one of the most debated methods in translation circles. However, scholars seldom study it in film title translation. This paper will focus on the duality of creative treason under the guidance of Skopos theory. That is to say, argue the impossibility of “faithfulness” at the level of language in the process of translating an English film title and, at the same time, explain the degree of “treason” in translation. Finally, an appropriate method, dealing with “faithfulness” and “treason” in the principle of Skopos theory, appears naturally.

摘要：电影片名翻译是一项重要而富有创造性的工作，绝妙的片名翻译能为影片锦上添花，在新片的推介过程中具有举足轻重的影响。“创造性叛逆”一直是翻译界备受争议的措施之一，英语论文网站，英语论文，但当前鲜少有人对影片名翻译中的“创造性叛逆”进行探讨。本文将以功能目的论为理论指导，研讨“创造性叛逆”的双重性。即，阐明英文电影片名在汉译过程中语言层面上“忠实”的不可行性以及“叛逆”的适度性，实为一种以功能目的论为指导准则的翻译措施。

1．Introduction
In recent years, as more and more overseas films have been introduced and shown in China, foreign films have become an indispensable part of our daily life. The academic study on film theory and filmmaking technology also experience flourishing growth both at home and abroad.
Being a special and significant part of translation, the film title translation, however, is an area far from being researched. In fact, film title plays a vital role in the release of a film. And an excellent translated version attributes a lot to the commercial and aesthetic values of a film and attracts the audiences’ eyes so as to make a hit in the market abroad. A good film with an unforgettable title would be worldly famous and have great influence upon generations of people. But the reality is that the film title translation at the moment is in the state of disorder and disunity. Sometimes the audience will be completely confused by the translated version. Therefore, it is really high time to give enough attention to the field of film title translation.
