1 Introduction
1.1 Background information
Scientific English is used to precisely describe objective phenomenon, experiment results, production process and matter properties. Hence, there are lots of clauses in a scientific text. Among those clauses, the frequency of using adjective clauses is the highest, which often modify nouns or pronouns to show the notion of some certain item definitely and integrally. The translation of adjective clauses is the most difficult part in scientific English. Since translating an English discourse for science and technology requires accurate and rigorous translation, we have to carefully analyze those complicated long sentences first.
