摘 要
本篇论文将会论述英汉动物词的文化内涵及其翻译。由于中西方文化有着很大的异同，英语论文网站，英汉动物词也有着不一样的文化内涵。从人类社会存在以来，人类和动物密切相关。在原始社会，人们就依赖着自然，用石质工具狩猎。经过数百年与动物的斗争，很多对于动物的习语和俗语都出现了。为了更好的了解英汉动物词的文化内涵，英语毕业论文，本篇论文会将英汉动物词的文化内涵异同分成三部分，包括完全相同的文化内涵，部分相同的文化内涵和没有对应的文化内涵。同时，本篇论文会对不同文化内涵产生的原因作出调查。原因有四个，包括中西方有不同的习俗，不同的地理位置，不同的思维方式和不同的生活习惯。本篇论文还会阐述翻译的四种措施。这四种措施会帮助人们提高他们在翻译英汉动物词汇的能力。

Abstract
This paper will mainly talk about cultural connotation and translation of animal words both in English and Chinese. As is known to all, there is a big difference between Western culture and Chinese culture. So it is very normal that Chinese and English animal words have different cultural connotation. From the day that human beings came into existence, people and animals are always closely related. In primitive societies, people lived only on what the nature offered them. They hunted animals with stone implements. And the animals that they hunted is offered by the nature. But when hunting, people always need to struggle with them. Through years of struggle with animals, many customs and idiomatic usages about animals have appeared. In order to let people know cultural connotation well, this thesis will compare cultural connotation of both English and Chinese into three parts. It includes similarity, partly similarity and no correspondence of cultural connotation between Chinese and English animal words. In the meanwhile, this thesis will do some researches on the reasons of different cultural connotation. There are four reasons. They are different customs, different geographic environment, different modes of thinking and different living habits. Also, this paper will talk about four ways of translation. It helps people improve their translate ability in translating animal words both in English and Chinese.

1 Introduction
This paper mainly talks about cultural connotation and translation of animal words in English and Chinese.
1.1 Background
From the day that human beings came into existence, people and animals are closely related. In primitive societies, people lived only on what the nature offered them and they hunted animals with stone implements. In this way, the animal became the source of human’s food and clothing. Through years of struggle with animals, many customs and idiomatic usages about animals have appeared. Use of animal words abounds in our daily communication, either verbally or in written form. As far as animal words are concerned, it is well known that cultural universals do exist between different nations; however, different nations do not treat all the animal words in the same way. As a result, a lot of misunderstandings have appeared. So in a different cultural background, the same animal has a different cultural meaning. Only when people understand other nations' culture, misunderstandings can be decreased.
