Abstract
Vocabulary is the foundation for all languages. It is common to Chinese English-learners to pay much attention to the growth of vocabulary rather than the idiomatic and effective use of vocabulary, which can be seen in their process of English input and output. Lexical chunks is combining linguistic units with lexicon and grammar, which play an essential role in second language acquisition. In light of these facts, the writer proposes the hypothesis that lexical approach can effectively improve English learners’ input and output skills.
This research aims at exploring the implications of lexical chunks on English input and output through a contrast experiment. Two groups with five students participated in this experiment which lasted for one week. Ahead of this experiment, the researcher had the teaching of “lexical chunks” for the experimental group. This experiment was carried out by four tests on the basis of two different level TEM-8 reading materials. Considering the complex variables and the limited samples and time, this research primarily attempts to find out the influence of lexical chunks on English input and output. The result of this research shows that, compared with the control group, students in the experimental group had better performance on the tests , and improved a lot in English input and output. Moreover, it is observed that underlined lexical chunks have a positive impact on the experimental group to some extends. Therefore, this research hopes to shed some light on the future English learning.

摘 要
词汇是任何语言的基石。一直以来,词汇的应用是国内英语学习者的一大难题,普遍的现象就是学习者一般注重英语词汇量的增长,而往往忽视了如何地道流利地应用词汇,同时体现在英语的输入与输出过程,即听说读写。词块作为词汇和语法结合的相对固定的语言单位是词汇不可或缺的一部分,已被众多学者及专家认为对英语学习能起到积极的影响。鉴于此,作者提出假设,即词块学习能够提高英语学习者的输入与输出技能。
本探讨旨在揭示词块关于英语输入与输出的现实意义,英语论文网站,英语毕业论文,通过对比实验检验将词块应用英语输入、输出学习中是否有明显的效果,且关于不同难易程度的英语学习作用程度的异同。两组分别为5人的学生参加了本次实验,时间为一周。探讨者在实验前一周对实验组进行词块法教学。实验根据不同难易程度的两份TEM-8阅读材料设分别计听说读写四个小测试。考虑到变量的复杂性及有限的实验样本及实验时长,本次探讨只是对词块在英语输入与输出学习中的运用做出了初步的尝试。探讨结果表明,与控制组的学生相比,实验组的学生在听说读写方面均有明显的提高,测试成绩的确高于控制组且实验组与对比组的异同在相对难度高的英语学习中更明显。此外,词块突显对实验组的学生也有一定程度的作用,具体表现在词块在英语输出过程中词块在一定程度上能够高频率地出现。本次探讨希望能够对外语学习有所启发。
