Abstract
School-age children's education has always been the focus of people’s eyes. When children enter the school, they begin to contact another world out of family, and with the increase of age, they’ll have a lot of changes, including gradually entering puberty. In this process, great attention should be paid by families and schools. Only when they are fully equipped by the knowledge of children, can they understand children and let them grow up healthily and happily.
This thesis uses school-age children's self-awareness as the theoretical basis, and the research method is case analysis. By studying different family and school environment's impact on the development of self-awareness of school-age children, this thesis begins with the discussion of a kid’s movie Paranorman. Firstly, the story synopsis of Paranorman is introduced, and certain changes are made adaptively. Secondly, from the perspective of the protagonist Norman, the present situation of his family environment and school environment are discussed, meanwhile, the positive and negative impacts of Norman are evaluated. Secondly, after Norman showed his unique power to save the town, the changes that happened in his family and the school are analyzed. Thirdly, the comparison with Mr. Prenderghast is been made. Moreover, other school-age children are been analyzed, too. In the end, certain suggestions about the right method to educate and guide school-age children are given.
Based on the study of children's film "psychic boy Norman" in school-age children are the embodiment of the self consciousness, can be more intuitive to let readers understand school-age children, know how to treat school-age children, and get along with school-age children are in the process of itself should be how to change, etc., for possible future career in teachers or parents have certain help.
