I. Introduction
A news title is a window of a piece of news and it epitomizes and highlights the news. It can let readers know if it is worth reading. Besides, it is essential for readers to understand it and decide which one should be read and which one not. Well, how is the news title on the Internet? In this paper, the English politics news titles in the website of yahoo news will be introduced as an example. Like other types of news titles, the politics news titles for English in the website of yahoo news have the features that the general news titles own. In addition, they have their own features. In this paper, I will make a study of 100 English politics news titles in the website of yahoo news through the 本论文由英语论文网/pragmatic perspective of face. “Face,” the public self-image that every member wants to claim for himself, consists in two related aspects: positive face and negative face. (He, 2017: 562) Positive face is that people hope their self-image and personality are protected in communication, wishing that the speech, desire and act are appreciated and approved of. But negative face is that people hope for the rights to non-distraction and freedom of action. (Ran, 2017: 69) Therefore, politeness is also divided into the two types: positive politeness and negative politeness. Positive politeness includes praising and standing close to the other people. Negative politeness is not to interfere in other people’s freedom and right. (Shu, 2017: 499) Just because of it, there are positive politeness language and negative politeness language. The news titles reflect the speech acts and purpose of people directly or indirectly, and people’s face just through these linguistic devices. Now, I will make an analysis of 100 English politics news titles from these aspects: syntax, tense and voice, omission and vocabulary.
 
II. The forms of news titles
Unlike the other types of news titles, with features such as shortened headlines, proverb headlines, new word headlines, or rhetoric headlines, the English politics news titles in yahoo have few such features. They have hardly any rhetoric, proverbs and new words. Their main forms are sentence and indirect speech, and occasionally, other forms, for example, “The Pope’s Geopolitical Agenda”.
 
1. Sentence
1.1 Categories according to the structures and forms of sentence
The main sentence form is the simple sentence in news titles. And its two main structures are SVO, and SVOA.
SVO (subject / verb / object):
(1) Australian leader criticizes Sudan
(2) Administration attacks trade barriers
(3) UN launches Cyprus reunification process 
(4) Berlusconi “wants more EU influence”
(5) NKorea rejects UN rights resolution
SVOA (subject / verb / object / adverbial):

(3) Iraq leader tries to lure investors to its oil, gas fields
