Virginia Woolf (1882-1941): British woman writer, critic, the representative figure of the stream of consciousness novels in 20th century, is known as one of the modern feminism vanguards. During the period between the two world wars, she was among the core of literary characters in London. Her well-known literary works includes The Voyage Out (1915), Night and Day (1919), Jacob’s Room (1922), Mrs. Dalloway (1925), To the Lighthouse (1927), The Waves (1931), A Room of One’s Own (1929), The Death of the Moth and Other Essays (1942), and The Moment and Other Essays (1948). A Room of One’s Own is an important work of Woolf. A Room of One’s Own came into being when Woolf was invited to give a lecture about women and fiction. She (1929) advocates that a woman must have money and a room of her own if she wants to write fictions. In October 1928, Woolf travelled to Cambridge to deliver her lecture on women and fiction. She returned for a second lecture in the next week. In March 1929, she wrote A Room of One’s Own based on her two lectures in Cambridge.
