摘 要
《了不起的盖茨比》是美国作家菲茨杰拉德的代表作之一。除了盖茨比这一最重要的男性角色外，故事中也不乏形形色色的女性角色。“黄金女孩”黛茜•布坎南，职业高尔夫明星乔丹•贝克以及甘愿沦为上流社会男性的情妇的茉特尔•威尔逊就是小说中最具代表性的三位女性人物。尽管她们来自不同的阶级，拥有不同的个性和命运，但她们却展示出了爵士乐时代女性在对待社会、财富和社会地位、爱情和婚姻上的态度和价值观念。在这样一个以男性为主导的社会，她们依附男人从而取得物质上的享受。她们外表时髦却内心空虚，为了追求财富和社会地位不惜背叛爱情和婚姻。论文基于爵士乐时代的社会特征和时髦女郎的形象及特点略论这三位女性的外貌和内心，从而归结出爵士乐时代女性价值观并略论其形成原因。发现导致其价值观形成的主要因素包括：社会的转变和经济的发展，英语论文题目，大众传媒的发展，享乐主义等思想的出现。但在解析其种种形象及其各种负面价值观的同时，英语论文，在一定程度上也展现出了试图冲破以男性为主导的社会束缚的“新女性”形象。

ABSTRACT
The Great Gatsby is one of Fitzgerald’s masterpieces. Except the hero Gatsby, the story is loaded with various types of females. “Golden Girl” Daisy Buchanan, professional golf star Jordan Baker and Tom’s mistress Myrtle Wilson are three representative female characters in this novel. Although they are from different classes and possess diverse personalities and fates, they have demonstrated some similarities in values toward society, wealth and social status, love and marriage. In such a man-dominated society, they attach themselves to males so as to achieve material enjoyment. The three females are all stylish outside but hollow inside. They would rather betray love and marriage just for wealth and social status. The values of the three representative females are not innate, but closely related to social and cultural reasons. Based on social features and the image of “Flappers”, this paper analyzes female values in Jazz Age and finds out the factors that contribute to their values including social change and economic boom, development of mass media, emergence of new ideas. While analyzing their images and characteristics, it cannot be denied that the image of “New Women” who endeavor to free themselves from the bondage of the man-dominated society has sprung up.
